Hello Parents and Caregivers,

Our Halloween party was a success! Thank you to everyone who brought something to share and to those that wore a costume, thank you for participating!

This month’s theme is “Community Helpers” and we’ll be looking at all different things our community has to offer! Please stay tuned for field trips within our town and surrounding areas. We’ll also be making crafts to reflect this and as always, if you have any input, please don’t hesitate to share!

Our monthly virtues are “Courage”, “Confidence”, and “Excellence”. During our circle times, it is our hope that the children will take what they have learnt and that they will inspire to excel! Discussions range from how to be a good friend, to how each child’s day is going, from 1 being the lowest and 10 being the greatest. How to stop bullying when it happens and what can be done about it. For instance the children talk about W.I.T.S.:

W = Walk Away

I = Ignore

T = Talk It Out

S = Seek Help

When they can’t talk it out amongst their peers, they can seek help from a Caregiver, Teacher, or After School Care Staff for help in talking it out with each other. We encourage the children to participate and hear their ideas or input on things and what they like best or least, in terms of program planning or, what they would like to see more of, as their interests change throughout the year.

Please check with your care providers if you have all registration requirements and update your child’s file as needed. Thank you.

Fees are due the first of every month by post dated cheque and calendars are needed to insure you get the days you want, for your child every month. It’s a first come, first served basis.

As the weather gets colder and more wet, please send your appropriate clothing and footwear to play in. Sometimes an extra pair of socks or a pair of pants, are needed because the children love to jump in puddles!

Snacks for After School Care are to be peanut free and treenut free. Oatmeal is a good choice on these chilly days and any vegetable or fruit is good too!

Important Dates:
• November 4th Daylight Savings Time (Turn your clocks back one hour!)
• November 11th Remembrance Day
• November 12th We are closed in lieu of Remembrance Day
• November 30th Pro-D-Day( No School, no After School Care)

Kind regards,
